For those of who were expecting an Amazon gift certificate on Friday and received nothing like me, this entry explains the situation. I emailed loomia@surveys.com and got a response.

Hi -
We had an unexpectedly huge number (5x what we expected!) of people complete the survey in the last few hours it was open - which is great! But it means that it will take us a bit more time to get these out, since I am processing these manually.

Unfortunately, there were clearly a good number of people who did not make a good-faith effort at thoughtfully completing our survey. Through our initial test run, we identified that 8-12 minutes was the average amount of time it took to complete the exercise, and we will compensate all users whose survey-taking time was within a reasonable margin of that. We expect to have all gift certificates distributed within a week.
