There was a particular post on a forum regarding a Citibank promotion in which account holders receive a $50 Gift Card redeemable with 6,000 Thank you points simply as a token of the bank's appreciation.

Apparently, you're sent a brochure and invited to call to "talk about as much or as little as you like" on the topic of how Citibank can improve their customer's total banking experience. The code was shared and a lot of other people called in and actually qualified for the promotion, hence receiving the $50 gift card.

I'm a Citibank account holder so naturally, I joined the bandwangon and tried my luck. Unfortunately, I didn't qualify. The call, however, did confirm the promotion was indeed valid.
